Siam Industrial Wire and Mechai Viravaidya Foundation sign MoU
Yeoh Choon Kwee (left), Managing Director of The Siam Industrial Wire (SIW), signed a MoU with Mechai Viravaidya (right), Chairman of Mechai Viravaidya Foundation, for the School-BIRD (School-Based Rural Integrated Rural Development) project. This project will be concurrently implemented in all 6 schools in the Ban Khai District, Rayong. The aim of the project is to use the school as a center for life-long learning to teach business skills and knowledge to the community. A village fund will also be setup to provide credits to villagers to setup their own business enterprise.

Siam Industrial Wire and Nichia Steel Works setup new galvanized wire factory in Thailand.
Mr. Yeoh Choon Kwee (2nd left), Managing Director of The Siam Industrial Wire Co., Ltd. (SIW) signed a joint venture agreement with Mr. Ichiro Kawamura (2nd Right), President of Nichia Steel Works Co., Ltd. (NSW) to establish TSN Wires Co., Ltd. The new company will produce galvanized wire in Thailand and aims to supply to both the domestic and overseas market. The factory will be located next to SIW's existing factory in Rayong. It will have an annual capacity of 36,000 mt and will utilize state-of-the-art technology that will be both energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

-On Wednesday December 14th 2011, Siam Industrial Wire (SIW) participated in a press conference to announce being the first in the manufacturing company in Thailand to receive the ISO 50001 certification at 2 pm at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand (FCCT). The ISO 50001 is awarded to companies that effectively implement an energy management system and follow a systematic approach in achieving continual improvement in energy consumption. Businesses can also increase their competitiveness through being an environmentally conscious organization. The Management System Certification Institute (MASCI) Thailand, who are the creditor of the award presented at this press conference to formally and officially present the award to SIW.
